Sean McNeice's diverse background in the culinary arts has brought a flavorful new dimension to Mikimotos Asian Grill and Sushi Bar. The Asian Grill, headed by Chef Sean McNeice, features appetizers, salads, entrees and ever-changing desserts.
A Wilmington native, McNeice graduated from the culinary school at Delaware Technical & Community College in 1996. His innovative talent earned him the school's coveted Cutting Edge Award.
Books and classes provided the technical skills, but McNeice also sought on-the-job training. While still a student, he worked full-time for the 1492 Hospitality Group restaurants. Afterwards, McNeice experienced the Philadelphia scene as a sous chef for the eclectic Rose Tattoo Cafe.
In May 2001, McNeice brought his experience and considerable expertise to Mikimotos. The readers of Delaware Today magazine have rated his Asian inspired appetizers #1. Last year, McNeice traveled to Chicago, Illinois to experience first-hand the world-renowned Charlie Trotter's. Working directly with Chef Trotter, McNeice participated in the restaurant's Staglaire Program, further enhancing his culinary proficiency.
McNeice's menu deftly fuses the flavors of the Orient, Europe and the Caribbean. Exotic and prized ingredients spar playfully on the palate. Uniting these cultures so artfully displays McNeice's considerable capabilities and makes Mikimotos a restaurant not to be missed.
